Kindlov was born from a simple desire: to transform everyday objects into little things we truly grow attached to.
Initially conceived to bring readers together, our adventure then expanded through objects designed to accompany their rituals.
At first, I was simply a student with a passion for reading. I loved reading deeply, but I often read alone, without really having a reading partner with whom to share my discoveries, my favorites, or what I felt like reading at the time.
Even before Kindlov, there was the idea of a reading application designed to accompany readers in their daily lives and allow them to share their passion more.
While I was developing the application, I obviously kept reading.
But I felt another lack: I wanted my reading time to have its own universe.
I was looking for original e-reader covers, more personal, warmer. However, I often found the same simple, solid-colored, or very similar models.
I wanted something that felt like me.
So a new idea was born: to create a whole world of gentleness, comfort, and personality around reading.

Little details capable of turning simple reading into a true moment for yourself.
The first Kindlov design was born from something I particularly love: autumn.
Pumpkins, soft colors, little girly details, and that feeling of slowing down as the days get cooler.
I wanted to create a design that really feels like me and captures exactly how I wanted to feel while reading: serenity, comfort, and that little sense of romanticizing everyday life.
It was with this design that the Kindlov universe truly began.

Bringing Kindlov to life required a great deal of research, discussions with our production partners, and adjustments to adapt each design to the various products.
Here are some of the steps that allow our worlds to come to life.
We also know that no single universe can represent everyone.
That is why Kindlov also allows you to imagine something more personal.
Colors, atmosphere, first name, text, or visual references: tell us what you imagine and we will create a universe with you that reflects who you are.
Kindlov became a two-person adventure.
My boyfriend joined me in creating the site, communicating with suppliers, and all the moments where building this project required a lot of patience and motivation.
Today, what makes us happiest is being able to share this world with other people who love to read as much as we do.
We simply want that when you settle in with your e-reader, your blanket, or your favorite drink, you can feel what I was looking for myself at the beginning of this adventure:

and a true moment for oneself
And the story doesn’t end there. Our reading app will soon extend this universe with a virtual library, wish lists, reading piles, circles of friends, communities, and new ways to share your reading.
